Letter's of support to Repeal P.L. 671
"The Ute Partition Act"

We are embarked on a remarkable journey to secure the signature from as many people who will support a petition that will be presented to Joe Garcia, President of the Nation Congress of American Indians at the 63rd annual convention in Sacramento, CA this October. This Petition asks for the NCAI to pass a Resolution calling on Congress to repeal the Ute Partition Act of 1954 (P.L. 671.)  Take Action Today

On October 4, 2006, the National Congress of American Indians, Sub-Committee rejected our petition which killed the Resolution! The Petitioners were not informed in advance when their petition would be scheduled for consideration. By doing this end run, the petitioners were not able to adequately present oral auguments favoring the Resolution nor were they allowed to present any letters of support, "See example's below", in favor of the Resolution. The NCAI also refused to accept an letters of support addressed directly to them from Indian Tribes.
